Providing the earliest images of our universe, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has pushed the frontier of space technology and deep-space imaging to a completely new level! Through a partnership with ESA (European Space Agency) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), its first full-color images and spectroscopic data were released on July 12, 2022. These images and data have fundamentally changed our understanding of the universe, allowing us to explore uncharted territories and revisit some old familiar sights in the universe.
Hear from Dr. Kenneth Harris II, one of the lead integration engineers on the program to discuss the incredible images and technologies incorporated into making JWST a reality. What do these discoveries mean for the future of humankind both on and off this planet? And what else is really out there?
Acknowledged by Forbes Magazine as “one of the world’s youngest and most impactful individuals in the field of science”, Kenneth is celebrated for his thoughtful and dynamic leadership on programs with national and international partners. Beginning at age 16, Kenneth launched his career at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, contributing to both Earth and Deep Space Observatory missions over a 16+ y...
