Judit Firniksz is a graduate of both Budapest University of Economics and the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University. She obtained her PhD at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and is now a research fellow at the Research Centre for Competition Law. Her research focuses on regulatory and competition law issues in digital markets. Her primary professional interest lies in the domain of digital compliance, encompassing the compliance challenges encountered by digital enterprises.
In her capacity as a scientific advisor, she provides expert guidance on legal and regulatory matters within this field. From 2006 to 2021, she headed the competition law practice group at PwC Legal - Réti, Várszegi & Partners and participated in PwC's sectoral regulatory groups. Between 1998 and 2006, she began her professional career at the Competition Policy Office of the Hungarian Competition Authority, and later, she played a key role in establishing the Consumer Protection Office and became its first head. She currently serves as a board member of the Hungarian Competition Law Association, and is the leader of the Digital Markets Working Group. He is a lecturer in undergraduate law courses on 'Regulation of Digital Markets' at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and 'Digital Compliance' at the LLM training of the University of Pécs and the Univerity of Debrecen.
