About

Russell is the Mobile Infrastructure Lead at Compass, a company that builds software for real estate agents. Prior to Compass, Russell was a mobile developer at Tonic Design, a mobile development agency in Philadelphia, and launched the first native white-labeled ecommerce platform for Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister apps in 2015. Russell then led mobile development on the Hinge dating app as it rebranded and relaunched in Q2 2016. Russell graduated from Drexel University in 2014 with a BS in Software Engineering (minor in CS). After the iPhone 4s launch in 2011, Russell bought his first iPhone and began on his own ideas. Within 3 months, Russell had his first app in the App Store which sold for $0.99 and had over 10k downloads through the summer of 2012. In 2013, Russell joined a startup working with the DoD as the Lead Software Engineer and built a white-labeling mobile platform that was used to automate and improve the accuracy of Systems Operation Tests (SOTs) for NAVSEA, Military Sealift Command (MSC), US Coast Guard (USCG), and Emergency Readiness Assist Team (ERAT). Russell pioneered the use of iPad apps within the DoD and developed features such as Bluetooth Mesh Sync to relay all updates in realtime across all iPads on the ship.
