The #1 most valuable hard skill to have is coding. Modern day developers are wizards; using code to magically create automations, workflows and applications that changes our lives and businesses forever. Developers are among the most sought-after jobs and highest paid salaries for a reason. Yet, only 0.7% of the world's population can code. Why? It's far too complex. Learning terminal, git, editors, devops, infra, http protocols, thread management, compilers and containers takes years to comprehend and worst part: none of it is business-logic it's all just noise.
Join Steve as he tells a story about what the developer of tomorrow will look like, what tools they use, how they will collaborate and what the future of coding has in store for them. Your take-aways are the tools to become a developer of tomorrow.
Hi! I'm Steve. I'm a crafty eccentric octopus, father, lover, and founder of things. I started my career young by dropping out of university and going straight into business. Over the last decade I've build four companies: two failed, one succeeded and my new one is most ambitious.
Outside the digital world I enjoy time with my three year old daughter Olive and wife Naomi, write children's books, read physics book, practice yoga, and climb rocks. Frequently people say I'm passionate to a fault and I smile too much. But you can be the judge of that.
Hope to see you at my talk!
